Angela is a Technical Compliance Program Manager at Acacia Center for Justice. Before joining Acacia, she worked at National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) as a managing attorney where supervised a team of attorneys and paralegals handling affirmative and defensive immigration cases. In addition, she oversaw their Counter-Trafficking Project and Naturalization pro bono project. Prior to NIJC, she was a senior staff attorney at The Door’s Legal Services Center where she supervised a team representing immigrant youth in removal proceedings. She also worked in California as a staff attorney at CARECEN in Los Angeles and was the Director of the Domestic Violence program at Casa Cornelia Law Center in San Diego. She started her career in immigration law at NIJC a as a paralegal where she helped launch their VAWA/U Visa project and later became a fully accredited representative. She returned to NIJC after law school to lead the Counter-Trafficking Project before heading to the west coast. Angela holds a B.A. from University of Chicago, a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, and is a member of the State Bar of Illinois.
