Kathy grew up in Oregon and is a former Skadden Fellow who has spent the last decade working in immigration, education, and organizing. For the past six years, she represented survivors of gender-based violence at Sanctuary for Families in immigration and criminal matters. Prior to Sanctuary for Families, she co-founded the Immigrant History Initiative, an education nonprofit organization that trains educators and produces resources on the history of the U.S. immigration system and marginalized communities. Kathy earned her J.D. from Yale Law School and her B.A. in International Relations from Pomona College. She now lives in Seattle and enjoys hiking in sunny weather, and watching Chinese dramas when it rains.
