Lillie is a Senior Policy Associate with over 8 years of experience spanning immigration policy, research, and service provision. Previously with the Migration Policy Institute, her areas of expertise include immigrant integration trajectories, the unaccompanied children and refugee resettlement programs, and the intersection of legal status, identity, and mainstream systems in the United States.
Lillie approaches policy analysis and implementation strategy with a practitioner’s eye, drawing on her experiences in direct services in refugee resettlement at the International Rescue Committee and organizing with grassroots movements in her community to advance holistic, human-centered policies. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a concentration in Ethics and Policymaking from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Science in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from the University of Oxford, where she recruited pro bono country of origin experts for asylum attorneys as a research assistant for the Rights in Exile Programme. When she isn’t working, Lillie loves to travel, cook for friends, and spend time on the water.
