Safia Chettih

Senior Data Scientist, REDA

Safia is a Senior Data Scientist at the Acacia Center for Justice, working across orientation and representation programs administered by the Executive Office of Immigration Review. She is responsible for data management and analytics to support reporting, research, and evaluation across programs, and for communication and problem-solving around data within Acacia and with external stakeholders. She was a fellow in the Summer 2022 cohort of the Data Science for All / Women program of Correlation One prior to joining Acacia in Sept 2022, and previously held positions as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Reed College and at Southwestern University. She holds a Ph.D. in algebraic topology from the University of Oregon and a B.S. in mathematics from MIT. She is passionate about digital rights, including privacy, transparency, and equity.
