About
The Counsel for Children Initiative provides attorneys to children who are forced to appear in immigration court on their own. The program ensures that vulnerable children do not go through court proceedings alone.
CCI operates within 14 cities
Services
Full-scope representation of children before immigration court and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
People Served
Children who are in removal proceedings without a parent and are not in the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
“The Children’s Counsel Initiative has enabled our organization to expand our capacity to serve some of the most vulnerable immigrants in removal proceedings: children. The funding and support have allowed us to represent more than one hundred children, all the while investing in staff capacity, experience, and wellness, an investment that has yielded positive results for our organization, our employees, and, most importantly, the children we represent.”
