Jonaki is a certified clinical social worker and Senior Program Associate for Acacia’s Unaccompanied Children Program, where she works to provide holistic resources to assist network practitioners in delivering client-centered, culturally humble, and trauma-informed support. She has worked with young people and families for over 10 years, building an abolitionist approach to mental health and trauma work that centers migration experiences and the impact of legacies of colonialism. Prior to Acacia, Jonaki worked as a school social worker, a mental health clinician for unaccompanied children, and in mental health services for children and families exposed to violence. She received her MSW from the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a B.S. from the University of Maryland at College Park.
